Description:
Own your own private secluded island waterfront retreat with a fantastic view of beautiful sunsets over the Olympic mountains and Puget Sound shipping channels. Whidbey Island is in the center of Washington's Island experience.
At your retreat you will enjoy the peace and solitude of an approximately two acre estate on the West side of Whidbey Island. Your view is overlooking the magnificent Olympic Mountains. Watch for the merchant and cruise ships headed out to sea for destinations unknown. Local wildlife is everywhere if you only stop and look. The sunsets over the mountains are spectacular. . On a clear day you can look south and see Mount Rainer. If you look closely you can even see the Seattle skyline.
Your private resort is surrounded by large multimillion dollar estates. You have about 173 feet of high bank waterfront looking west to the Olympic Mountains and the Puget Sound shipping lanes. It is over 400 feet deep so you are not right next to the road. You have almost 2 acre of land to roam around. Most of it is treed with a large lawn area that would make a great home site. This would make a great second home or just a place to get away from it all. There are 6 foot wooden fences separating you from your neighbors.
This property is comprised of two tax parcels
Existing structures on each parcel include a two car garage (one has an office/work space up above) and a 8 X 10 shed. There is an older manufactured home on each parcel that were used as a rental. They are well worn. The value is in the land itself. Currently has electricity, septic system, phone and internet to each parcel. Water is from a community well. School district is South Whidbey.
Owner financing is a possibility with a substantial down payment.
All of the pictures in this post are taken from the property.
Due to the high bank there is no beach access from this property. Beach access is available at several nearby public locations
From your retreat it is only a few miles up the road to South Whidbey State Park. A little bit farther up the road and you come to Fort Casey State Park. One of a trio of forts that defended the entrance to Puget Sound during the early part of the 20th century. Enjoy many of the original structures and gun emplacements that have been preserved.
Also here you will find the ferry terminal for the ride to Port Townsend. Walk on or ride your bike for a day trip to the quant coastal town. In addition to the many unique shops you will find the second of the three defense forts here.
Back on Whidbey as you continue to head north you will pass another unique town of Coupeville and Fort Ebbey. At the north end of the island is one of Washington's truly wonderful state parks, Deception Pass. This is a beautiful place to spend the day hiking and enjoying all the state has to offer. The bridge to the main land also makes Whidbey one of the few islands where you are not totally dependent on the ferry.
To the south east of your retreat is the Art enclave of Langley. Continuing to the south end of the island you come to Clinton and the ferry terminal to the mainland.
Whidbey Island continues to expand its network of walking and bike trails making it a great place for you and your family to enjoy the slower pace of life.
